Jill had the option to retire at 60 but was she ready? After all, she had only been at Astralux for 45 years!

Jill Woollard joined Astralux two days after leaving school at 15 back in 1961 and has worked as a Production Operator and Quality Inspector at the Brightlingsea electronics factory ever since.

When faced with the option to retire at 60 or stay another 5 years, the decision for her was not as easy as we might have expected. With almost no time off and having never submitted a Doctor's Certificate, the Astralux habit was well established. Finally Jill decided that she deserved the change and began her retirement on Tuesday 21st March 2006.

Jill said "I'm only 6 days short of 45 years service but I've been happy at Astralux and I will miss the Company and the people".

Jill was presented with a Wall Clock from her friends at Astralux and Garden vouchers from the company to help her enjoy the time she will now have for her favourite hobby.

Geoff Earl, Managing Director, said "We have a number of long serving employees but none to match the dedication and loyalty shown by Jill. We wish her a long and well earned retirement".
